The free event aimed at Gloucestershire businesses and farms is entitled “Beyond recession: growing your business in a tough marketplace” and expert speakers will include David Owen of Gloucestershire First, Maurice McCartney of Fresh Management Solutions Ltd, Ben Hall of Millhall Consultants and Julie Heather of Heather Resource Management Ltd.
The experts will cover business strategy, financial management and how to get the best out of people and topics will include:
-         planning for success, leadership, knowing your market and customer needs;
-         funding options and the key financial controls for competitive advantage;
-         achieving growth by aligning your people with your business needs: how to resource, develop, motivate and reward for success.
The ‘Recession Recovery’ event will be of interest to a wide range of businesses and provides an opportunity for local business people to share their experience and ideas, discuss important issues and network in a professional environment.
The event runs from 9.30am and will be held at Hartpury House with ample networking opportunities to include lunch, before the session draws to a close at 2pm.
Andrew Callard, Deputy Principal Services for Business, Hartpury College, comments: “We’re pleased to offer this free event at Hartpury aimed at helping local, rural and agrifood businesses to look beyond the recession and recognise that opportunities exist for growing their business in tougher times. I’m grateful for the support from Business Link which enables us to do so. Our guest speakers are experts in their field and will deliver informative sessions on their topics, which I know local business people will find interesting and will stimulate healthy debate.”
“The Hartpury Business Network is one solution from Hartpury College’s Centre for Rural Business to enable business to be successful and we run many similar events throughout the year, as well as offering a range of services for local business including training.”
